I spent 10 years as a business executive and I loved it. Really, I did. The challenges, the teams I built and all of the teams I was a part of. At the same time I couldn’t explain the constant exhaustion I felt and I refused to accept that the back pain I experienced is normal ‘for someone working in an office’. At night, I won all the imaginary debates and I made the longest to do lists in my head but when it came to falling asleep I struggled.
I had to do something. I went to behaviour psychology courses, I learned about design thinking to get better at understanding and solving my issues and I became a yoga and meditation trainer. I did all this to help myself. I did it because I wanted to improve my ability to cope with stress. I wanted restful nights before big events and I was ready to say a forever goodbye to that back pain. I did not want to be the person who lets out a loud sigh when picking up a pen from the floor.
So here I am sharing what helped me to deal with stress, perform better, enjoy the present, feel good in my body and sleep well. So you can help yourself to live better in the urban jungle.
